Bouncing can be fun on a trampoline, but in your car it's downright dangerous! Even though the name "shock absorber" is self-explanatory, there's still a lot to know about what keeps you from bouncing down the road like Tigger. High quality shocks, struts and a well-maintained suspension system allows the car to recover more readily from bumps and respond better to curves.

Lucky for you, the trained ASE-certified technicians at Performance Tire and Auto can test your shocks, struts and your entire suspension system for reliability. And, for the safety and comfort of your passengers. You'll be amazed at your vehicle's improved handling with a set of our top-quality name-brand shocks and struts. So, give us a call to get the bounce out of your vehicle.

The primary function of your car's suspension and steering system is to allow the wheels to move independently of the car, while keeping it "suspended" and stable. Any play or uncontrolled motion in these systems results in a deterioration of handling and accelerated tire wear. Vehicle alignment is closely tied to the condition of the suspension and steering systems.

Suspension System

Worn or loose components affect the suspension system's ability to control motion and alignment angles, resulting in a deterioration of vehicle handling and stability, and accelerated tire wear. The main components of the suspension system are:

  • Control arms
  • Ball joints
  • Springs (coil or leaf)
  • Shock absorbers
  • Struts
