What does it mean when you see the ASE
logo?
There's no reason that a consumer should leave their automotive
repair and maintenance to chance. Thanks to the National
Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, much of the guesswork has
been eliminated from finding excellent service. National
Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is a non-profit organization
that tests and certifies automotive professionals.
The ASE performs the function of testing and certifying technicians
to work on all aspects of your vehicle's repair. Since it's
a nationwide organization, the standards are, well, standard
across the nation. The ASE program is accepted and recognized
industry-wide.
How does ASE Certification benefit you?
You can be confident that the technicians at Performance Tire
and Auto know what they're doing. All of our technicians have
passed difficult national tests in which they prove their
competence and knowledge.
How Certification Works
Twice a year, auto mechanics take ASE tests. Technicians are
not only required to pass the exam, but they also fulfill
a two-year work experience requirement. This hands-on training
is invaluable in their ability to detect and repair problems
with your vehicle. Not only that, but they can prevent future
trouble by looking out for common issues.
Our technicians test in all areas of repair: engine repair
and performance, electronic systems, brakes, heating and
air, suspension/steering, automatic transmissions and more. Prior
to the introduction of ASE certification in the early 1970's,
there was no way for vehicle owners to qualify their mechanics.
We all know that automobile maintenance, function and compliance
have changed drastically over the years. For this reason,
ASE requires all technicians to test again every five years
to stay abreast of technology.
For more information on ASE certification, visit the National
Institute for Automotive Service Excellent at www.ase.com.
Meanwhile, look for the blue and white ASE insignia on the
sleeves of all the techs at Performance Tire and Auto Service.
You'll be confident that we do it right the first time.
